Challenge
Aircraft pilots and cabin crew learn best when training in a realistic, three-dimensional environment such as a simulator. In-person and simulator training is expensive and not scalable, however, which left aircraft carriers with inferior, two-dimensional training options.
My
Solution
My team of instructional designers and courseware developers created online immersive courses within realistic, high-resolution 3D cockpits, cabins, and aircraft exterior environments. Courses provide direct instruction followed by guided practice, and skills assessment. The easily scalable courses cover aircraft systems, operations, and flight manuevers.
Why
It Works
Immersive training environments improve procedural learning by developing muscle memory, spacial awareness, and confidence, enabling learners to more easily transfer skills to a real-world environment. Direct instruction clearly demonstrates procedures and guided practice allows learners to master skills in a risk-free environment.
